IBZ - Hiking Day

On Tuesday, our company gate remained closed – and from the outside, that may have looked a bit odd.
While the premises were locked up, our employees’ cars were parked just like any other day.

The mystery solved: It was company hiking day at IBZ-Salzchemie!
After organizing ourselves into carpools on site, we set off for Blockhausen under glorious sunshine. Awaiting us were impressive wooden sculptures, fresh forest air, and – at long last – the chance to enjoy real conversations away from our desks and labs.

Even our apprentices and interns, affectionately referred to as "our kids," had a great time. Who would have thought that 17- to 19-year-olds could still get so excited about playgrounds?

After a delicious group lunch (plus an unplanned encounter with a very confident goose), our day concluded in nearby Seiffen – with a visit to the summer toboggan run. That’s where we enthusiastically held our internal IBZ Rodel Championships.
